BEHIND THE LENS: Janani Vaidyanathan
"In my teen years, my friends and family would always ask me to be in charge of the camera during vacations and events. When I wanted the photos to look certain ways, the curiosity of learning the craft just came naturally to me. I taught myself Adobe Photoshop out of necessity and kept taking photos.
I think photography is an important part of our culture. Whether you're taking selfies or getting professional family portraits, photography documents life in a very important way. We don't always remember days, weeks, years... but we remember moments, and when we forget these moments, we have photographs to remind us of them again. I got into portrait photography to capture the essence of people and moments, so my clients can look back on them and smile. The fulfillment I get from giving people something like that is amazing.”- Janani Vaidyanathan
